Sales automation decision guide
CRM-specific workflows
Start with CRM hygiene, meeting notes to fields, lead enrichment, stale-deal alerts, duplicate detection, next-step reminders, and handoff summaries. These workflows improve pipeline visibility without asking AI to sell on its own. They also create cleaner data for later scoring and forecasting.
Lead scoring inputs
Useful scoring should explain the reason behind each recommendation: firmographic fit, intent signal, source, behavior, urgency, deal size, historical conversion pattern, and missing data. A score that cannot be explained will not earn rep trust, even if it looks impressive in a dashboard.
Follow-up playbooks
AI can draft follow-ups from call notes, form submissions, website behavior, and CRM context. The best playbooks define tone, offer, next step, proof points, and stop conditions. Human review should remain in place for high-value accounts, pricing, legal language, and unusual customer context.
Deliverability caveats
More automation is not automatically better. High-volume generic sending can damage sender reputation and brand trust. Use AI to improve relevance, segmentation, QA, and timing, while keeping list quality, consent, suppression rules, and email deliverability controls outside the model.
Revenue metrics
Measure speed to lead, response rate, booked meetings, CRM completeness, time spent on admin, stalled opportunities, follow-up consistency, and conversion by source. If the pilot only saves rep time but never improves pipeline quality, the next iteration should target handoffs or qualification logic.
Rep-in-the-loop controls
Give reps a simple way to approve, edit, reject, and explain AI suggestions. The early goal is trust and learning, not full autonomy. Edits reveal which instructions, CRM fields, or playbook rules need refinement before automation expands to more accounts or actions.
New implementation pages
Use these pages when the sales bottleneck is more specific than broad automation: Pipedrive workflow ownership, Salesforce controls, or meeting context that never reaches the CRM.
